Cellular- and/or tissue-based products (CTPs) are types of wound dressings or coverings that support wound healing. There are multiple options for these products, including: non-viable cells, tissue-based: animal; non-viable cells, tissue-based: human; viable human cells, cultured in vitro: animal substrate; viable human cells, cultured in vitro: synthetic substrate; and viable human cells, non-cultured: intact tissue.
In January 2026, new Final Rules regarding CTP/skin substitute application are scheduled to go into effect. Please consult your region’s Local Coverage Determination and/or your local payers’ guidelines for specific details on coverage and use specifications. Products listed in WoundSource may or may not be on the covered list under the new guidelines, so it is imperative that readers verify coverage policies, medical necessity requirements, and coding instructions for their desired product(s). Keroxx® Flowable Wound Matrix is an advanced wound care matrix comprised of Replicine™ Functional Keratin® in an injectable gel. Provides a dermal scaffold for cellular migration and capillary growth, while promoting cellular proliferation and the formation of a healthy granulation bed.
MicroMatrix® is a sterile, porcine-derived, naturally-occurring lyophilized extracellular matrix in particle form that maintains and supports a healing environment for wound management.
Miro3D® Fibers is a three-dimensional wound matrix derived from the highly vascularized porcine liver. It is perfusion decellularized and dried. The resulting porous material is milled to create Miro3D® Fibers.
Miro3D® Wound Matrix is a three-dimensional, hepatic-derived, and porous wound care matrix. It is 2cm thick and designed to fill deep, tunneling, and irregular wound beds. Supplied sterile.
MiroDerm® Biologic Wound Matrix is a unique hepatic-derived acellular wound matrix that provides an open collagen matrix with natural vascular pathways to assist in cellular infiltration and integration.
MiroDry™ Wound Matrix, a thinner version of Miro3D, is a hepatic-derived, porous and compressible wound matrix. It is designed to conform to any wound bed, tunneling, and irregular wound beds. Supplied sterile.
mVASC® is an aseptically processed, lyophilized, and terminally sterilized 19.5mm disk of human cadaver-derived extracellular matrix (ECM) harvested from the skin hypodermis. mVASC ECM contains hypodermal structures, including microvascular tissues.
Neox® 1K is a cryopreserved ultra-thick amniotic membrane allograft derived from umbilical cord, used for the management of non-healing and chronic wounds.
